There are several churches that are well worth visiting
in Xylokastro if you have the chance. They are the churches of
Agios Gerassimos and Agios Elassios, the feast of which is celebrated
on February 11th.
Xylokastro is also perfectly situated in the sense
that it makes an ideal base from which to explore some of the
other fascinating regions of the Peloponnese, as well as some
of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece. Ancient Olympia,
Mycenae, Epidaurus and Delphi are just a few of the sites that
are within easy distance of Xylokastro, as well as the city of
Athens.
