There are several resorts that run along the Corinthian coast, and the resort of Xylokastro (pronounced Ksilokastro) is one of the most popular and charming. Xylokastro offers visitors the perfect combination of blue sea and mountain.

Xylokastro is located just a short way from Corinthos at a distance of 34km. It is very popular with both Greeks and visitors from abroad.

It has some very beautiful beaches, which are ideal for the summer months. There is also a selection of accommodation and hotels for visitors to this region.

The beautiful backdrop of the Kyllini mountain is one that makes Xylokastro even more beautiful. The greenery and nature that flourish in this region really offers a sense of tranquility and peace. The woods of Pefkia are a perfect place to take a walk and enjoy the nature and picturesque setting that Xylokastro has.

However, there are more than enough restaurants, tavernas, bars, cafes and other facilities to keep everyone entertained during their stay here. Along the coast, you will find a wide selection of tavernas that offer a variety of dishes, including fresh fish, and some unique mezes.

There are several churches that are well worth visiting in Xylokastro if you have the chance. They are the churches of Agios Gerassimos and Agios Elassios, the feast of which is celebrated on February 11th.

Xylokastro is also perfectly situated in the sense that it makes an ideal base from which to explore some of the other fascinating regions of the Peloponnese, as well as some of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece. Ancient Olympia, Mycenae, Epidaurus and Delphi are just a few of the sites that are within easy distance of Xylokastro, as well as the city of Athens.
